BJP Demands Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s Resignation After ED Attaches ₹300cr MUDA Scam Properties
In a shocking turn of events, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah following the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) attachment of 142 properties worth ₹300 crore in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case. The ED revealed that these properties were provisionally attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in relation to the ongoing investigation against Siddaramaiah and others.
Political Turmoil in Karnataka
The ED’s investigation has uncovered a web of corruption allegedly involving Siddaramaiah, who is accused of using his political influence to secure compensation sites for his wife, Smt B M Parvathi. It is reported that 14 sites worth approximately ₹56 crore were allotted to Parvathi in exchange for 3 Acres 16 Guntas of land acquired by MUDA at a mere ₹3,24,700. Former MUDA commissioner DB Natesh’s role has also come under scrutiny for his involvement in the illegal allocation of these sites.
Call for Accountability
BJP state president BY Vijayendra minced no words in demanding Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation to allow for an impartial investigation into the alleged corruption. Vijayendra emphasized the importance of transparency, accountability, and justice for the people of Karnataka, urging the CM to uphold the integrity of his office.
Implications and Allegations
The ED’s actions have sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Karnataka, with opposition parties accusing Siddaramaiah of land usurpation worth ₹3,000 crore, particularly targeting lands belonging to the Dalit community. Governor Gehlot’s show-cause notice to the CM last year further underscored the seriousness of the allegations against Siddaramaiah.
As the state grapples with this unfolding scandal, the BJP and its allies have vowed to continue their fight against corruption and misuse of power. The ED’s findings have validated their efforts and shed light on the systemic corruption at play in Karnataka’s governance.
This latest development is a stark reminder of the need for ethical leadership and accountability in public office. As the people of Karnataka wait for answers and justice, the spotlight remains firmly on CM Siddaramaiah and the future of the state’s political landscape.
Remember, behind every political scandal, there are real people affected by the consequences of corruption. It’s essential to hold our leaders accountable and demand transparency to ensure a fair and just society for all. Let this serve as a wake-up call for all those in positions of power—integrity matters, and the people deserve nothing less.
